Understanding Packages

In EasyUC we use Packages to group Templates. That means, each template which you create need to be in a package.

Why we use Packages?

If your cluster has several groups of users, for example managers and employees. And if the devices which will be configured in CUCM have different configurations, then we need to have the option to create a Jabber for Windows Device for the manager and also for the employee. For this, we need to have two templates for Jabber for Windows Devices.

And because in EasyUC you just click on a checkbox to create a Jabber Device, we need to have an option to be able to use the different templates. The Package for us is an option to have groups of templates.

If in your cluster, all devices per location will be configured completely the same, then you just need one Package. This package will be defined as default package for this location and then you never need to select any package, it just will be prefilled automatically.
